PUPILS at schools across Mzansi celebrated finishing their matric exams in very different ways.
The ink on their final papers had barely dried when scores of matrics in townships hit the parks to celebrate, boozing as if there was no tomorrow.
Pupils from several high schools in Tsakane, Ekurhuleni flocked to Mponeng Park where they boozed and tore up their school uniforms.
“This is our time. Our parents will forgive us. Exam time was stressful and this is our moment to de-stress.”
“Most of the papers we wrote this year were tricky and wanted us to think outside the box. But we did our best,” said a pupil.
The Gauteng Department of Education discouraged pupils from taking part in pens down parties, warning that drugs and unprotected sex were common at such events.
